Three Ways to Make Money on the iPhone

Details

UPDATE: We'll be opening the doors at 6:30. Arrive early if you can; we'll have free drink tickets for the first 200 and we'll be starting speakers at 7. We're planning 30-40 minutes of presentations. After that, we'll have lots of time to mix and meet, and later in the evening we'll have a time for brief announcements and some giveaways. I've got a couple of books to give away and thanks to our sponsors, two iPod Touches. Bring a card for the drawing!

=================================================

It's time for another party at the Blue Chalk! This time we have three sponsors: Greystripe, SuperRewards, and DeNA (the parent company of the #1 mobile social network in Japan). Each one will have some interesting things to share with us, but we'll spend a large part of the evening mixing and networking. Bring your business cards, your ideas, and your demo apps!

Thanks to our sponsors, admission this time will be free, and we'll have some fun prizes to give away at the end of the evening (including at least one iPod Touch).

But although admission will be free, you must RSVP to get in, so sign up today!

Three Ways to Make Money on the iPhone (and none of them involve app sales!)

Greystripe: Advertising

Michael Chang, CEO of Greystripe, The Mobile Brand Ad Network, will present a number of developer case studies showing how much revenue ad-supported iPhone apps and games can earn and what types of apps are doing well using the advertising model. He will demonstrate how the advertising experience, high CPMs, and overall app user experience play a critical role in creating a profitable ad-supported business. He will also share demographic user data from Greystripe’s recently released Mobile Advertising Insights Report.

SuperRewards: Monetizing Virtual Currencies

SuperRewards powers many existing iPhone apps and was the first company to monetize virtual currency on mobile platforms, social network applications, virtual worlds, and Twitter. Some of SuperRewards' existing iPhone apps include Loot Wars and Epic Pet Wars and there are many more. Julie Craft, Vice President, Publisher Relations, will share information about the SuperRewards SDK, top apps, what works and why. SuperRewards was recently acquired by Adknowledge and now has access to thousands of additional advertisers and global resources. https://srpoints.com... (https://srpoints.com)

Julie will be bringing a guest speaker, Chris Abad, CEO of iList. Here's a description of Chris and iList that Julie sent us:

iList are the creators of the overnight-sensation and the very first Twitter game, Spymaster (https://playspymaster.... (https://playspymaster.com)). What started as a fun and unique exploration of Twitter’s application platform for Chris and his team, has since taken over Twitter and become an addiction for thousands passionate users. Chris and his team quickly ported their app to the iPhone which instantly took off on the mobile platform as well with a unique twist of cross-platform play. Come see Chris demo their overnight cross-platform application success and find out how you can take your apps to the next level in cross-platform play! At iList, Chris is responsible for overall strategy and direction of the company, as well as product concept and innovation. iList is headquartered in San Francisco, CA, where Chris and the rest of his team resides. Prior to founding iList, Chris was the co-founder of Integral Impressions.

DeNA: Building a Social Gaming Platform

DeNA Global is a 100% US subsidiary of DeNA, the company behind Mobage-Town, the #1 mobile social network service site in Japan. Currently Mobage-Town has over 14 million users and 18 billion page views/month. DeNA Global is also running a worldwide mobile social network service called MobaMingle. DeNA is releasing a Social Gaming SDK for iPhone game developers that will integrate their games with DeNA's social network. We'll hear details of DeNA's new platform and learn how to integrate it with our apps.
