iPad Launch Party

Details

The iPad is here! Celebrate by showing off your iPad app or app-in-progress at our April meetup. I've reserved a downtown Palo Alto location for a mixer party on April 19. Admission includes a ticket for a free drink and food from the Bistro 412 kitchen.

iPad demos will be the theme of the night. According to the New York times, the rush is on (https://www.nytimes.com/2010/03/22/technology/22apps.html?pagewanted=1&hpw). We have several lined up and many more in the works. I'll add details as apps are confirmed:

The Apps

rrripple for iPad from the company started by Andres Davidovits and Heather Hiles. Based in Palo Alto, rrripple (https://rrripple.com)'s mission is to make it easier for people to stay in touch by sharing photos and other media and to do that, they've designed an innovative interface that's perfect for the iPad. Rrread morrre about rrripple on TechCrrrunch. (https://techcrunch.com/2009/10/20/rrripple-a-touchscreen-friendly-hub-for-storing-and-securely-sharing-your-media/)

Muse Many of you know Warren Stringer and his creative ideas for interactive musical performance and audience participation. Warren came to the iPhone platform with a vision (https://www.muse.com/puzzle.htm) that the iPad has made possible.

The Wrong Side of the Bed-3D!, the first 3D illustrated children's book for the iPad by Valerie Mih and See Here Studios (https://www.seeherestudios.com). To help us see what she's helped create, Valerie has offered to bring free 3D glasses for the audience. Must see!

Hit Tennis, Mark Johnson's 3D tennis game, updated for the iPad. Mark and Rob Hunter teamed up to make this their first of many future iPad projects. Could a Friend Focus (https://www.focusedapps.com) port be far behind?

Marquee from Yodel Code, Aleksey Novicov's app for displaying messages on your iPhone and iPad (and Dom Sagolla's Bigger Words will be in the room too).

British Accent Trainer, by Bala Paranj, "the first Accent Reduction Training iPad app in the app store".

MobileIron Sentry, "IT meets Minority Report". This app will change the way you view enterprise security.

And, thanks to Serban Porumbescu, we'll see the new Tap Tap Radiation from Tapulous!

There's a lot happening! Got apps?

Sorry about the scare :) It looks like we've got our projector needs covered, but if you're already on your way with one, redundancy rocks!

Oops! Mixup at the venue. Need to borrow/rent a projector for the evening. If you can help me get one, email tim@neontology.com. Thanks!
