This has been a great year to be an iOS developer!
Many of us are drawn to the iOS platform because of the hope and opportunity that we see in it, and for the end of 2010 our topic is "What is your wish?" involving what you hope to do with iOS in the new year.
As we discussed at our November meetup (thanks Chris and others for great presentations!), our December iOS Developers' Meetup will be a party in Palo Alto. Please help spread the word -- we've got some great sponsors and some great reasons to get together: in addition to meeting up with some amazing people, all proceeds from the night will go to the Greater Bay Area Make-A-Wish Foundation (https://www.sfwish.org).
We'll be back at the Bistro 412 and will have food, drinks, and a special theme: your wishes. We'll have an Elmo, a projector, a mike, and two minutes for as many people as possible to present their wishes involving iOS and the future. There are some fabulous ideas and innovators in our community and I want to show them (you) off; we'll videotape the "wish" presentations and compile them into a special showcase that we'll post online. And to say thanks, I want to start by giving a MacBook Air to the winner of a "people's choice" vote at the end of the evening.
Check out this fabulous lineup of sponsors!
Greystripe - Disney Mobile - Apigee - 10gen - Blekko - MobileIron - Pervasent - PayPal
If you're not familiar with every one of them, you should be, because they all are building great products and services that create exciting opportunities for us as iOS developers. All sponsors are invited to give two-minute presentations amidst our "wishes"... and I'm proud to say that every company that I invited to sponsor us said yes... thanks for being such a great community!!
We'll also have some representatives from the Make-A-Wish Foundation so that you can learn more about them (and maybe even volunteer to write them some apps! :-) ).
So...
"What is your wish involving iOS and the future?"
Please help us fill the Bistro 412 on Monday December 13! Note the date change; we're meeting a week early to make room for the holidays. We'll ask for $20 at the door, and all proceeds from the door plus anything extra over expenses (MBA excluded) will go to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Thanks and I hope to see you then!!
Tim
p.s. If anyone wants to sponsor additional prizes or other giveaways for presenters or raffle winners, that would be great! Write me at tim@radtastical.com and let's discuss.
