WWDC Afterparty + Apps for Kids

Details

Join us for our annual afterparty on the Monday after WWDC.

We'll have a small charge at the door. But if you're staying over from WWDC, be our guest: enter free with your out-of-state id.

We'll spend most of the time mixing but take a break around 8 to enjoy some presentations and demos from people developing apps for kids. Presenters include:

Andrew Kao, 77 Sparx Studio (http://www.77sparx.com)

Björn Jeffery, CEO of Toca Boca (http://tocaboca.com). Visiting from Sweden!

Yadong Liu, KwiqApps Inc. (http://www.kwiqapps.com)

Luca Praaso, Curious Hat, Inc. (http://www.curioushat.com)

Also, we'll have a special guest: Eliot Cowan, a local innovator who started his first design consultancy as a fourth grader at Pinewood School in Los Altos. I learned about Eliot in this great piece (http://www.mercurynews.com/scott-herhold/ci_20515528/herhold-youthful-tester-your-app) by Scott Herhold in the San Jose Mercury News. Eliot's clients include Disney Mobile and Smule, and he's agreed to come and share some insights with us Monday.

Hi, if anyone could help by bringing a MacBook Air (mini display port) to VGA adapter, one of our speakers would much appreciate it! If it's you, please mail me off-list (tim@radtastical.com)

Hi Noel,

You'll get a drink ticket on the way in and we'll have food from the MacArthur Park kitchen. The $10 will help cover expenses, but our actual costs are 2-3x that. Since we don't have outside sponsors this evening, I'm paying the difference because I have something that I'm excited to announce at the end of the meetup tonight. See you soon!

Tim

Hi Randy, my advice would be to start testing the assumptions that you're building. If you don't think they're assumptions, start charging people money for whatever it is. If they don't want to pay you, back up a step and figure out where you are going wrong. If they do want to pay you, put more effort into that piece and start telling people that you're generating revenue on your idea. There are several services to help with the "start telling people" part, such as Angel.co and more.
