Renaissance is a three-day conference for iOS app makers that is uniquely designed and produced by app makers - and it shows in the sessions.

Renaissance features a fast-paced single track of sessions that address the business, design, and technology of apps, all focused on the ingredients of successful app development.

Renaissance speakers include creators of many successful apps and top talent from areas vital to app success. Several sessions uniquely emphasize the app business: Winning in the App Store on Monday talks with developers making a living from App Store sales, Apps for Hire on Tuesday includes four heads of app development consulting companies, and Wednesday’s Power Up your IP features prolific IP attorney Susan Gibbs, veteran venture capitalist John Malloy, and former Cisco M&A chief-turned-angel investor Dan Scheinman.

Other sessions go deep into animation, audio, testing, and other essentials for a great app user experience. In one titled "Designing Engagement", Black Pixel Director of User Experience Jaimee Newberry will lead with a review of elements of user experience that make or break an app's chances of being regularly used. Then Prismatic's Aria Haghighi will talk about machine learning and user modeling techniques like the ones that his company is using to create personalized and context-aware news reading experiences.

Read more about it at http://renaissance.io .

If you are attending Renaissance and would like to demo one of your iOS apps at our Tuesday evening conference Demo Party, please post a comment below with the name and brief description of your app.

One of my take aways from Renaissance is that iOS with Bluetooth LE is a huge opportunity in 2013. If you are interested in getting into BTLE please join this group on LinkedIn for BTLE and iOS development.

I will be going through the support forums on Bluegiga's site to learn as much as I can and get started. I plan on sharing my code on Github and with the members of that group on LinkedIn.

I'm glad you enjoyed the session and you find BTLE as interesting as I do.

Thanks Scott, I've been in touch with Tim Eskew and he's sent me great information and connected me with a hardware distributor. I hope to get started soon.

I think what made it great was that, almost all of the speakers were talking from their direct personal experience. They were NOT just managers or evangelists; they are doers.

Probably the most useful conference I have attended in past few years. Loved the single track format and the diversity of topics. The speakers were very high quality.

If you're an iOS developer and can attend only one conference a year, this one is it! It's that good.

For me there was 1 session each day that was worth the whole conference. You booked some great speakers. Thanks, and congrats.

After 20 years at EA, I quit this last December to explore my passion for design, entertainment and technology. Considering attending renaissance as a first conference in years that wasn't a game conference.
