Brian Soule on A/B Testing and Catherine Tai and Iain Huxley on Yahoo Weather

Details

We'll have two talks at our October meetup.

Brian Soule on Lean A/B testing for native apps

First Brian Soule will present an overview of native A/B tools and best practices. We'll hear ways to boost engagement and conversion rates without compromising native performance.

Brian is the CEO of Waiting Room, a waiting room clipboard on iPad. Waiting Room allows medical patients to read, fill out, and sign paperwork electronically.

Catherine Tai and Iain Huxley on Yahoo Weather

Then we'll hear from Catherine Tai, Lead Visual Designer, Yahoo Weather, and Iain Huxley, Lead iOS Developer, Yahoo Weather. Together they will provide insights into the design and development of this Apple Design Award-winning app, including diving into some of the visual techniques used.

Finally, I must express many thanks to Michael Viguilla and Shawn Cartwright at Yahoo for stepping in and hosting this at the last minute. For reasons that I'll be able to share soon, I was saving this evening for another host that had to reschedule. But that will be worth it, and now we can look forward to another great meetup this Monday!

Great content from both presentations. It's nice to know some of the old UI tricks are still being used by the best apps out there.

The most important question: Will there be food provided or should we grab a bite ahead of time?
