Know Your Audience with Quantcast

Thanks to Quantcast for offering to host our November meetup. We're planning two presentations, starting with an in-depth look at the Quantcast Measure for Apps SDK for iOS. Michael Kamprath, Quantcast's Vice President of Engineering, and Kevin Smith, Engineering Mobile Lead, will describe Quantcast's mobile solution. In addition to traffic and loyalty metrics, the free app measurement service allows you to get to know your audience demographics (age, income, gender, household income, education and ethnicity) and audience segments (defined by you) to inform your marketing and product development strategies. To learn more, click here: https://info.quantcast.com/MeasureApps_iOSdevmeetup.html .

Michael Kamprath joined Quantcast in April 2010 as Vice President of Engineering. He oversees all software development and Quantcast’s data analytics operations. Kamprath holds his BSE and MS in Aerospace Engineering from University of Michigan.

Kevin Smith joined Quantcast in March 2013 as Engineering Mobile Lead. He's currently helping drive Quantcast's mobile initiative; developing and improving the iOS and Android measurement SDKs which help developers gain a better understanding of their user base and audience segments. Kevin holds a BS in Computer Science at University of California.

Maurice Sharp on Learning iOS Development

Then we'll hear from Maurice Sharp, lead author of the newly finished "Learning iOS Development: A Hands-On Guide to the Fundamentals of iOS Programming" from Addison Wesley. He'll talk about how the iOS7 release affected the book and share some lessons on quickly coming up to speed with major OS and tool changes. All that and a discount code for the book.

Maurice Sharp is a 21+ year mobile industry veteran enabling, doing, and managing mobile development at companies large (Apple, Palm) and small. He is also author of "Learning iOS Development" for Addison-Wesley. He has worked with 15+ languages on 10+ platforms including iOS, Palm, Newton, and yes, Symbolics LISP machines. Apart from his full time role, he just finished "Learning iOS Development", available now in eBook form with a printed version due out later this year.

Bonus: Edmund Leung of Kii

We'll open on Monday with a short presentation from Edmund Leung, Sr Product Manager at Kii, on the Kii Cloud and Kii's services that can help build app businesses.
