WatchKit will be released this month. Let’s learn a bit about the Apple Watch sensors. What kinds of apps can be built? Ben Morrow, organizer of the SF WatchKit Meetup (https://www.meetup.com/apple-watch/) will talk about what's possible. According to Ben, the WATCH can be used in three key ways: for glances, for health, and for communication.
But if you've been watching (ahem), there are a lot of other smart watch platforms around. Local expert Ramin Firoozye has offered to give us an overview of the "other" watches that we might want to wear and fill with apps.
Thanks to Paul Robinson and Saul Mora at Coursera for agreeing to host us! As you know, Coursera is a leader in online education with nearly a thousand online courses that you can watch on an iPad (and more). They've promised something interesting to share with us Monday as well: a look “Under the Hood of Scalable Apps” by iOS engineer Brandon Tram and Android engineer Michelle Wong.
Finally, FYI there's a WatchKit Hackathon on Nov 23rd:
It looks like a great chance to prepare, brainstorm, and connect with people interested in working together.
See you Monday!
