Have you experienced VoiceOver or any of the other accessibility technologies in iOS? They are amazing, empowering, and surprisingly easy to support in an app. But with all the ease of supporting iOS accessibility technologies, it's also easy to miss them and mess up if we're not paying attention.
To raise our awareness and knowledge of accessibility on iOS, I've invited Google's David Tseng to speak with us about iOS and accessibility. David is a programmer on the Chrome team at Google and teaches Google's internal course on iOS Accessibility. David has also achieved the "hat trick" of working at Microsoft, Apple, and Google and is an experienced consumer (http://www.worldaccessfortheblind.org/node/470) as well as a tester and developer (https://www.linkedin.com/in/david-tseng-92097910) of accessibility technologies.
We'll also hear from Deep Datta and Deanna McCusker of Benetech (http://benetech.org/), a Palo Alto nonprofit that produces accessible books as part of a range of projects that develop and use technology to create positive social change.
We'll be meeting on Google's campus in Mountain View. I started working with Google's cloud division last month and look forward to sharing more about that (https://www.meetup.com/sviphone/events/229235858/) soon.
To go further with accessibility, be sure to check out the Bay Area Accessibility and Inclusive Design Meetup (https://www.meetup.com/a11ybay/).

Hope you all have a great Meetup, thanks Tim for bringing focus to iOS accessibility with some great speakers. While I unfortunately can't make it, I want to extend a personal invite to those of you interested in continuing the digital accessibility conversation to join us at www.meetup.com/a11ybay

When you arrive tonight, go to the CL2 main lobby on the front side of the building. We'll have name tags there for everyone who registered and people to show you the way to pizza and our meeting room.
I have an errand to run beforehand, so we're planning to open the doors at 6:30 and start talks around 7:15.
