For most of us, the best way to learn to make an app has been to make one.
Evan Waters is a local iOS developer that you may already know through our meetup. A former product manager, he recently took some time off to learn iOS. As a first project, Evan created Slowpost (https://slowpost.me/), an iOS app with an interesting take on messaging. Evan did EVERYTHING on Slowpost: product design, marketing, web, coding, and even the artwork. He also put together a great presentation describing his experience that I invited him to share with us in April. It's the kind of story we've seen many times, but also unique and interesting with something for everyone.
Thanks to Microsoft for kindly offering to host us this month, and with perfect timing: on March 31 Microsoft announced that Xamarin will be a free part of Visual Studio. To tell us more about that, Microsoft's Craig Dunn will talk about what it takes to build iOS apps with Xamarin.
Many thanks to Microsoft's Paul Ko for offering space and pizza for our April meetup!
