"Welcome To Flutter" cross-platform app development at Launchpad Space

This month we'll be at the Google Developers Launchpad Space on Howard Street in San Francisco and we'll be looking at Flutter (https://flutter.io/), a Google open source project for building cross-platform mobile apps.

What is Flutter?

Flutter is a mobile app SDK for building high-performance, high-fidelity, apps for iOS and Android, from a single codebase.

The goal is to enable developers to deliver high-performance apps that feel natural on different platforms. We embrace differences in scrolling behaviors, typography, icons, and more.

"Seriously?" you might ask. I was skeptical, but in 20 minutes, I was able to install the SDK (with a "git clone") and build and run some surprising samples. I also heard from Emily Shack, one of the presenters at this Google I/O 2017 session (https://events.google.com/io/schedule/?section=may-19&sid=496d01fb-2139-4fd6-84b2-e585d1a20e61&gclid=CjwKEAjw_6XIBRCisIGIrJeQ93oSJAA2cNtMIh0zPXLKUfB5FRCairbXwZfBXYpmMf5FmeVqoe-BmBoCOsbw_wcB) on Flutter. Emily is a Flutter user and agreed to join us to answer questions about her experiences.
